The Ein Gedi Nature Reserve is located about 50 minutes north of the “Desert Routes Inn”. You can combine a fun trip while you are staying at the site, en route from the Center or on your way to the Center. Springs flow steadily all year long in the nature reserve and there are many shady corners.
The more interesting portion of the nature reserve is situated in the upper portion of Nahal David (Dudim Cave and the Ein Gedi Spring) and requires a certain amount of walking, but it’s definitely worth it (as can be seen from the photographs). It is highly recommended that during the same trip you will combine bathing in the Dead Sea, at one of the supervised beaches of Ein Gedi or Ein Bokek. The beaches have showers and changing rooms, and entrance is free.
